My mom and I just got back from Dr. Kramer's office. The amniotiic fluid levels are still within normal limits...YIPPIE! The doctor told us today that he was convinced that after all my problems and the fluid levels he was convinced that I'd be in for surgery by now and he's thrilled that the fluid levels normalized and we're hanging in there. He said I have to rest a lot since I'm getting a lot of Braxton-Hicks contractions but that's OK with me. Jack is measuring in the 53rd percentile for growth overall which is great considering his abdomen is small from the organs being shifted up. The sonographer said he'll be tall....his leg bones are measuring long already! We also saw plenty of hair on his head! Not a big surprise I guess if you look at James and I. We'll be lucky if he doesn't come out like a gorilla..haha!
As for organs....his liver is still DOWN and he's still breech. He's sitting right on my cervix and bladder too! He weighs approximately 4 lbs and 9 oz. They said he'll be big. The GREAT news is that he's now officially big enough for ECMO if he needs it. WHAT A RELIEF!!!! His stomach seems to have shifted to the center of his chest and his heart is still all the way to the right. I thought the heart looked weird so I asked Dr. Kramer to take a second look. We actually saw left lung tissue and the doctor thought he saw a mass maybe near the heart or lung (this was what I saw too). We couldn't really tell anything for sure...it could've been that his stomach is just laying funny but we'll keep an eye on it. No point worrying about it now.
I was also accepted into a practice down at Hopkins for delivery. I think he said the doctor's name is Ann Silva or something like that. He said the team at the practice is going to coordinate their schedule then call me and I'll likely go down next week for a first visit. The plan is still to deliver by planned C-section around 39 weeks (~Aug 20th). That means we're at just over 6 weeks away!!!!
We don't have any pictures from today's visit. Jack was on the run the whole time we did the sonogram. The sonographer was laughing because no matter where she put the probe thing he'd kick it. He's been moving CONSTANTLY all day. When he finally was still he had both his hands up like he was playing peek-a-boo. What a little stinker! I think it's good he's so stubborn and fiesty. I'll have my hands full with this little guy when he's home from the hospital!
Well, that's it for this week. My mom is here for a few more days. She's got me on a VERY strict diet for the gallbladder as per Dr. Kramer's instructions. It's actually helped the symptoms a bit but I'm really craving some molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It's torture!
Love
Vic

Thank you so much for your concern and comments concerning our LCDH baby (babyrich07.blogspot.com). I am quickly seeing how parents with CDH babies quickly become a tight-knit family of support for one another. We will keep baby Jack in our thoughts and prayers as well. Just so you know, before I got married and moved down to Birmingham, AL I lived in the Washington, DC area and actually got a graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. I know it is a great institution and that you will get excellent care there for you and your baby.
Much love and prayers,
Rusty Rich
Hey Vicki! Thanks so much for the kind comments and prayers you have sent our way this past month. I am just now getting a chance to read your blog and will be watching it for updates on you and baby Jack. Hang in there!

Keep rocking on baby Jack. Glad to hear the liver is still down...that's great news. No fun to not be able to have chocolate moulten cake when your pregnant!!!
