We've had a really great few days with Jack. On Saturday the weather was gorgeous here in Maryland. We took Jack for his first walk downtown. It's funny how many people stop you when you have a baby. While the Baby Bjorn was really comfy and a fun way to carry Jack he was a little bit too easy for people to reach out and touch. I think we'll have to use the stroller in the future or I'll have to be quicker on the draw in getting people to back off. Jack loved all the attention though and was soaking up all the sights. He saw some ducks swimming and some big dogs too.
Today we went for his followup GI visit at Hopkins. His doc there is so awesome and after examining Jack he said that it looks like we are hopefully past the point where we need to worry about a feeding tube. As long as Jack stays on his curve for weight (just below 3rd percentile) he's doing great. We don't have to go back to GI clinic unless we have a problem. I couldn't believe this! The other reason we had a great visit was that Jack's surgeon Nicole came by when she got out of surgery and we had a great visit with her. I couldn't believe that despite how busy I know she is she took the time to walk over to clinic and spend so much time visiting with us. I think Jack was sad when she left because he started to fuss and cry. There are a few people on Jack's care team that I think he has a special link with and Nicole is definitely at the top of the list. I'm so glad we got to see her and catch up on a personal level.
I posted some photos of Jack from the past few days. As you can see he's now sporting a Boston Red Sox hat. My brother (a die hard Yankee fan) has threatened to feed it to the dog but I think it suits Jack. The last photo I took this morning. Jack is rolling like a mad man these days. This morning he rolled onto his tummy, grabbed the mirror and admired himself for a while before flipping back over.

Wow! How could he not roll over and admire himself? He is so cute! (And he knows it too!)
