Cardiologist Follow Up Appt

We had mostly good news at the cardiologist today. All the fluid that was around Jack's heart is now gone. Everything healed great and there is no evidence that anything ever happened. That is such great news for him.

He is still having irregular heart rhythms though. The cardiologist saw it on the echocardiogram and heard them as well. He had these before but we thought they were caused by the irritation to his heart (from the fluid). I think that since the fluid is now gone they think it wasn't caused by that which leaves the question of what the cause is. We will have to go to Frederick Memorial Hospital in the next few weeks and pick up a heart monitor (holter). Jack will have to wear this for a 24 hr period so the cardiologist can determine how many irregular beats he is having and what type they are. He said if they are mostly premature atrial contractions (PACs) this wouldn't be as concerning as premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). I think he said that if he's having either of these at a high frequency then we will have to continue with cardio follow-up. Either way I feel like we're in excellent hands with Dr. Brenner (a Hopkins doc). I'm not very worried at the moment. I think we just need to see what's really going on.

In other news Jack cut another (maybe 2) teeth - this time on the top. I knew he must be because he has been uncharacteristically cranky. Poor guy.

Please keep Jack in your prayers that the irregular rhythms are not a big deal.
