I have been waiting to hear how Wyatt's appt at Hopkins went today and I just read Gina's post and couldn't believe my eyes! I was praying that Wyatt would be able to hold off on surgery a bit longer but apparently his chest xray showed NO BOWEL in his chest! You have to go on his blog and read his post. As Gina said, a lot of people must have been praying pretty hard for Wyatt. I can't wait to see Wyatt and his family at the Hopkins NICU reunion. Jack and Wyatt will party it up and celebrate Wyatt's great news!
After reading Wyatt's post I went to check up on Baby Seth. He is still on ECMO and having a really hard time. Seth's parents (April & Russell) met with their surgical team today and the news was not very good. They are still holding onto hope. Wyatt, Jack, Sophia and so many other CDH babies are proof that miracles happen and sometimes the docs can't even explain it. Please pray for Seth.
Tomorrow we're going to FMH Hospital to attempt the blood draw for Jack. My stomach is in knots already. I'm a nervous wreck, James hates needles and I'm sure Jack won't like it either. I think the lot of us will need a chill pill before the procedure. Isn't it strange how we went through ECMO and everything else and a stupid blood draw has us crazy? I guess that's a sign things are 'normal' now!
I'll post tomorrow on how the blood draw went. Oh yeah - Jack also has his bi-annual assessment from Infants & Toddlers tomorrow. I know he's kicking butt in fine motor skills but I think we're still behind with gross skills like sitting up, crawling, etc. We'll get there. CDH is a marathon, not a sprint!
