Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep on ABC2 news

A few weeks back our family was interviewed by Kelly Swoope of ABC2 news in Baltimore. They were putting together a segment on the volunteer photography group, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS). When I was pregnant another CDH mom who lost her son encouraged me to contact them and touch base 'just in case'. When I couldn't muster the courage to do it myself this wonderful mom (Carole) did it for me. That's how we met Jill Myers. Jill took pregnancy photos for us and then when Jack came home and when he was 8 months old. We just saw her again for a visit (and more photos of course!) this past weekend.

The work that NILMDTS does for families is selfless and the most amazing gift. For us, it was the singular event in my pregnancy that allowed us to celebrate Jack's upcoming arrival. I can only imagine what it means to families who lose a child. Jill is one of the very special people in Jack's life and I'm excited for her to know him as he grows bigger, stronger and healthier.

Tonight ABC2 news aired the segment on NILMDTS. I can't find a link to the actual video but the transcript can be viewed HERE.
I feel honored to have been asked to participate in this story. The purpose was to raise awareness about this wonderful group and to try and get more volunteers. I hope they get lots of calls!!

For any expectant CDH parent - I would highly encourage you to find a NILMDTS photographer near you. As you know from our story, it can have a very happy ending and you never know the bonds and friendships you might find along the way.
