Pregnancy Update

The nose and lips are a head on shot. Look all the say to the right and they are poking out from the black area. You can see a small slit between the lips and the nose above. (Use your imagination).



I hope Jack doesn't mind that I'm posting about his sibling here but I guess he'll have to learn to share soon enough :-) On Friday I went for the 16 week ultrasound. They did what I think was a full anatomical scan. It was one of the best scans I ever had because the baby was waving and kicking and putting on quite a show. I was very nervous because I knew that we could potentially see diaphragm issues this early and then I happened to be placed in the room where they did Jack's amnio. Ironically, I had not been put in that room since the amnio so that also made me nervous. It was all worry for nothing though because we did see diaphragm, the heart and stomach were separated and everything else looked just fine. It's still early (16 weeks) but it definitely gave us all a sense of relief for now. I also had a ton of blood work done last time for some health related issues and all of that miraculously came back normal too! The appointment could not have gone better.

Now for the other exciting news...they think the baby is a girl! Obviously it's much easier to say with certainty if it's a boy but so far it seems like this peanut is a girl. We just want a happy and healthy baby but I have to admit I'm excited at the thought of dressing up a little girl in cute dresses! My mom said she's not going to let herself get excited and buy pink until the 20 week scan.

Finally, I want to say that I hope my dad likes this blog background better. He said he was going to fire me from blog duty because I didn't update in 2 weeks then picked an ugly background (the one that was on this weekend). I just don't have time to blog lately since Jack hogs all my computer time talking to his grandpa (haha!).
