A country boy

This weekend we took Jack up to Catskill, NY to my parents' weekend/summer house. They've spent the last 2 years doing renovations and it looks amazing. I'd move in if I could! This winter my dad put up a barn too. I think James is going to stain it for him over spring break.

We had amazing weather on Saturday and everyone was outside. My dad and James spent the whole day cleaning and prepping the land for planting. I think James raked the whole day trying to get the rock drive to the barn looking good so they could plant grass on either side. They also plotted out what they are going to grow this year. I don't think we'll have to make any trips to the Farmer's Market from the sounds of it!

Yesterday we planned to leave around 12 (which means 2pm for us). To make a long story short, I couldn't find my keys and my dad said, "why don't you call your brothers and make sure no one accidently took them". Well, Chris grabbed a bag with my keys and he was already home in CT (2.5 hrs from Catskill). We wound up calling AAA and a locksmith came out. He spent over 3 hrs but finally got a key made and we arrived back in Frederick at 12:30 in the morning. Fortunately, Jack slept the whole way. He never does that but I guess all the country air and excitement of the weekend really knocked him out.

Below is a montage of photos from the weekend. Jack was even helping my dad look for buried treasures with the metal detector..hehe.
