I made it back to MD after a relatively quick 6 hr drive. Jack is staying the week at my parents' house in CT. Yesterday both of my brothers, my sister-in-law Cathy and my Uncle Len all came over for a visit. Jack was the entertainer, as usual. It's always crazy when we all get together - lots of good food, laughs and loud fun. I posted a few photos from the day.
It feels so strange for the house to be so quiet with just James and I. I have to confess though, it is kinda nice to have time to ourselves but we miss Jack already. The weather stations are already saying we'll be hammered with snow and are calling tomorrow "Mega Storm Monday". I'm REALLY hoping for a snow day for James and I so we can have a whole day to just hang out together and watch movies and drink hot cocoa!
On a totally unrelated note, I am thinking about making Jack's blog private so you would have to ask permission to view it. I figured all our friends, family and CDH friends would get access but it would otherwise be private. I will try to post a poll to ask for opinions. It's just that Jack is getting older now and I'm not sure it needs to be public. I'm on the fence on this.
OK, enjoy the pictures and to mom and dad: give Jack a million kisses tonight from his mama!

As much as I hate to say this (because I love reading about Jack), it is probably best to move Jack's blog to private content. His story is inspirational and lovely. But, he is becoming his own little man and as such deserves the privacy that we all enjoy (at least those of us who are not celebrities).
Personally, I have enjoyed reading every update about Jack (via RSS). He is 4 months older than Nathaniel and it is such a treat to view what is coming up next for us. Though I do believe Jack has "beaten" Nathaniel to both walking and talking. Thank you so much for sharing such a big part of your lives with all of us.
Hi Vic,
We are actually thinking about doing the same with Carter's page. I am ready for some privacy and for him to not be the "CDH kid" anymore.
Yes, that'w hy we made ours private as well, but I would love to keep in touch with you and visit your family's blog :)
I'm so happy you can have some days to rest and be a couch potatoe ;)
Hi Vic,
I came across your blog by accident while researching one day on children w/ CDH. I love to follow his blog and other children who has had CDH because this helps me to understand the Medical side of it and I would love to continue to read his blogs while I am still doing my research. I just want to know how the children fare after they get older, if anymore medical stand point of view arises later on in their lives or not. Janet from Michigan
