A milestone Sunday!

Well, Sunday has certainly proven to start out with a bang in the Jensen household! I should've known today would be interesting when I woke up to Jack razzing me in the face. Nothing like waking up to the gentle spray of baby spit..haha!

James and I were playing with Jack this morning and I finally hit my breaking point with Jack's hair. It has grown into a mullet. I'm not even joking here. The worst part is that James wanted to let it grow and do a comb-over (or more accurately in Jack's case, a comb-up) to cover his bald patch on the back of his head where he has the scar from ECMO. I couldn't take it any more and grabbed Jack, his Bumbo and the haircutting kit and we went outside. I thought Jack's first haircut would be at a barber and he'd be screaming like almost every other kid at their first haircut. Nope, not our kid. He LOVED it. He got such a kick out of the hair falling down - and there was A LOT of it too! He didn't cry, squirm or fuss. We gave him a clip to play with half way through and that kept his attention. I was a little nervous using scissors around his head but we did OK. The best part is that I think you don't notice the bald patch as much now! Below is a montage of his haircut.

In other big news we weighed Jack before his bath and he is 17 pounds! This was pre-breakfast, post poop so I'm pretty confident this is his true weight. I love when he pushes through another pound mark! James' chest puffed out about 2 inches and he said it was because he was doing such a good job taking care of him this week and getting him to eat :-)
