A nice fall day

We had a nice day today. The weather was beautiful so we had lunch outside and played in the yard. James and Jack had fun with bubbles (see photos below). The older Jack gets, the more he looks like James.

We took an afternoon trip to the library. I was hesitant to take Jack there because it's cold/flu season but we took extra precautions. I was able to borrow some sign language DVDs. Jack's nanny has taught him a few signs and he seems so much happier when he can effectively communicate so we're trying to expand his sign language skills. I also borrowed some Sesame Street DVDs that feature Elmo. When Jack was first born some good friends of the family (The Cavallaro Family) sent Jack gifts and one was a stuffed Elmo. In the past few months he has fallen in love with Elmo. In fact, his vocabulary consists of "Ma Ma", "Da Da", "No", "Up", "Dude" and "Elmo". I'm sure his grandparents will wonder why he can say Dude and Elmo and not their names...haha. Anyway, we were in the library and he saw the DVDs and started screaming "ELMO ELMO ELMO!" It was hysterical.

Not much else is new. We managed to find some new foods for Jack at the organic market. We got him organic vegan cheese that is made from rice. I think it tastes kinda weird but he loves it. We also got him organic soy yogurt. I was really happy to find some alternatives for him. I think I'm otherwise not too creative with meals for him. A lot of what James and I eat he can't. I think that eventually the whole family will have to go milk free but I'm not ready for that!

Finally, please keep Ava and Carter in your thoughts and prayers. Ava is back on the vent and has 2nd degree chemical burns from dressings that were on her PICC line. I think Terri said she's allergic to the adhesives. Last I heard Carter was cruising along on ECMO. No news is good news!!

Jack has the cutest dimples. I agree that he is starting to look more like his daddy. I'm glad you found some more foods that he can eat from the organic market.
