Yesterday was CDH Awareness Day and Jack and I were decked out in our turquoise. As you can see from the pictures we've both grown since last year..haha. You can't see my belly in the photo but I think you can tell from the extra face pudge that I'm pregnant...haha! At least my shirt still fit with some creative stretching!
2 years ago on March 31st we had never heard of CDH. Jack was diagnosed on April 5, 2007 (coming up on that dreaded day). Since then we've learned so much, been on the CDH rollercoaster and met so many people. Just last week I met another CDH mom who had a baby in 2006. She also lives in Frederick. I wish Jack didn't have to endure all that he has but if we try to find the good in it, I know that it has changed our family in a positive way. We don't take each other for granted. Every day with Jack is a blessing. He gives us perspective on life and how can you not feel good when he flashes his smile and dimples at you? Yesterday was a day to be grateful and remember how far Jack has come. We honor those that survived and remembered those that passed away.
I also wanted to post a photo my brother took of Jack. My sister-in-law (Cathy) doctored it up. I think it's a riot...
