Jack was diagnosed with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) in April 2007 at 19 weeks gestation. This blog chronicals Jack's CDH journey from before his birth through today. He is our little miracle and we hope his story gives hope to other CDH families.

Keeping our fingers crossed
Jack came down with a nasty cold on Friday. It hit him pretty fast. By Sat morning he was a spring of yellow snot and started coughing a bit. We kept him outside yesterday for almost the whole day. He napped on the back deck in his playpen for almost 2 hrs (it was 75-80 degrees out). I think the fresh air and a long hot bath last night did him good. He looks a lot better already today but I'm a little worried the cold is moving from his head to his chest. It always seems to happen like that for him. We're keeping a close eye on him but surprisingly he's pretty active. He's definitely a bit of a cranky pants but wants to play ball and run around the yard. I took the photos and video below yesterday.
Tomorrow we have an appt at Hopkins with Jack's GI doc. Gina will be there with Wyatt at the same time so we'll get to visit (but from a distance b/c Wyatt doesn't need any of Jack's coodies!).
As for #2, I have an ultrasound this coming Friday. I'll be 25 weeks. Except for getting some painful contractions when I overdue it (which means walking too much for me) and constant back issues, things are going great with this pregnancy. The nausea and vomiting FINALLY seem to have settled down and are becoming rare events. I'm so glad!
He looks so good for a little one with a cold. I hope he gets better soon and nothing goes to his chest! Love the video! Marco and Jack would be great playing ball :) Good luck with the GI appt. And happy to hear you are feeling better and good luck with your ultrasound. Keep us posted!! Hugs, Ana and Marco
I hope Jack recovers from quickly from his cold and that it doesn't go to his chest. Claire has had three colds this winter and they all stayed in her head, but turned into ear infections.
She just ran over and pointed at the picture of Jack and said "ball!"
