Passing the time

Today is actually passing kinda fast. The baby is doing well - heart rate is good. She kept moving all night and the monitors would lose her heart beat so the nurse came in a bunch of times to readjust the belly monitors. I didn't sleep very well but I think that I'm so tired now that tonight I'll pass out. They finally allowed me to shower this afternoon. What a treat! It felt great to be 'unplugged' for a while.

I also had some visitors today. An Irish, Catholic priest came by. He was really nice. He asked if I was having a girl or boy and if I had a name. I told him we were still considering names so he offered up lots of fine Irish girl names. Around 10am a volunteer came by and asked if I'd like her to teach me how to crochet a hat for the baby. She stayed until nearly 12:30. It was really nice because we chatted and I actually finished my own hat for the baby (see pic above). Not too bad for my first hat. I asked James to bring me some more yarn (they let me keep the needle) and I will just keep making hats until I get bored of that.

Dr. Broth is on service today so he should be stopping by later today. I really like him a lot. I had him for several appts when I was pregnant with Jack, but I haven't seen him much this pregnancy.

That's about all I have to report so far today. A quiet day is a good day in here.
