Harvest Time

We're having a really great weekend. Jack's Great-Uncle Len is visiting from NY. Today we went to the Farmer's Market, to May's Crab Shack for lunch then took a stroll downtown in Frederick. We spent the later part of the afternoon hanging out around the yard. Jack picked his first 2 apples off of his hybrid apple tree. I bought that tree when Jack was diagnosed with CDH. When I was pregnant I watched the tree grow and often wondered if Jack would grow up to pick apples from it. So, today was a special day for us as we had our first harvest. The tree had a total of 4 apples and we picked 2. Below are photos of Jack playing with his apples.

Jack still has his cold and we're continuing to give breathing treatments. He is playing and eating really well. It sounds bad but I guess not worse then anyone else with a cold would sound. I won't be totally relaxed until he's finally kicked it.

Beautiful story, I am sure it was an amazing moment to see Jack picking the apples after this past year. All worth it, he is a blessing!
