Jack, Jill & Uncle Yenny

Today our friend Jill Myers came for a visit. Jill is a volunteer photographer with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. She took pregnancy photos for us and photos of Jack when he came home and again at 8 months old. It's always fun to have her over. I usually have my camera attached to my hip but Jill was taking lots of photos so I didn't get any of my own of her and Jack. I know she took some self-portraits of the two of them so I'm sure we'll see them on her blog. We had a great visit (except for the uninvited yellow jackets that crashed our outdoor lunch).

We also enjoyed the rest of the weekend with my Uncle Len (AKA Uncle Yenny). Jack kept trying to test me all day. He was trying to bite the corner of a DVD case and I told him "No" - he made his sad face and 1 tear came out then he tried again. I just grunted and he stopped. When I would look away he'd look at Uncle Yenny to see if it was OK and then he'd go for it again. When I looked up he would just rub the case across his bottom lip. You could see the wheels turning. I was happy that he stopped when I looked and I didn't even have to tell him no. I think he will definitely be one to push the limits though. It also took a lot not to crack up laughing while he went through this routine.

As for his cold, it continues to improve. We didn't even give him a breathing treatment today. He was so happy and active all day and didn't seem to need it. Let's hope he continues to improve.

Jack, Uncle Yenny and Jack's new puppet "Barkley" (not too sure about Barkley here!)

Yep, Barkley's pretty cool!
