Tell me this doesn't look like trouble!!

Yep, 2 seconds later he snatched a lone donut from the table

The MANY silly faces of Jack.....

Check out the molar!

Today we had a great day celebrating my birthday with my parents. They are both down visiting from CT. Jack has been like a sponge this week and is learning things so fast. We show him something once and he learns it immediately. Today my dad taught him to point to my dad's chin and mustache. Earlier in the week my mom taught him hands, feet and belly. I'm trying to teach him medulla oblongata but for some reason that's going a little slower - haha. We've almost nailed diaphragm though! He is also drinking out of regular glasses. The problem, however, is that he only seems to do it at the dinner table with an actual glass. No plastic cups for Jack. At least it's a step in the right direction.

On Friday James, Jack, my parents and I went to my OB visit at Dr. Kramer's office. Jack got to see his little brother or sister (still not sure) on the huge flat screen TV's they installed in the exam rooms. The baby cooperated great for the nuchal tranlucency test. This measures the risk for Downs syndrome and is done in conjunction with blood work. They combine results into a ratio and we were told the risk for our baby is 1:6000 which is quite low. So far it looks like the stomach and heart are also separated which gives some reassurance that this baby doesn't have CDH. We can't say with great certainty though until the 19-20 week ultrasound. The heart rate and everything else was normal. So far, so good! I'm feeling great with just the occasional morning sickness and usual issues. I don't have to go back for another 4 weeks.

Finally, today my mom got Jack a 'special' toy. While the money was on Uncle George, grandma was the first person to buy Jack his first drum set. This is NOT an infant/toddler drum set. No, this is the loud kind! We sat him down and he instinctively knew what to do. Check out the video below. He loves anything to do with music/making lots of noise. I suppose we'll encourage it as long as we can tolerate it..haha.
