We're into week 2 with Anika. I'm so grateful that my mom is here with us to help out. She's helping with the kids and also doing lots of reorganizing in the house (she used to organize houses on the side). It's giving us a sense of order and control in this crazy situation. Anika has gained back all her weight and then some. She was 6 lb 8 oz at birth but was 6 lb even when we left the hospital. Yesterday she weighed 6 lbs 14 oz! She's eating 3.5 oz every 3-4 hrs. We are currently in the switching formula game. I still hope to nurse her but because she is slightly tongue tied it has caused us some issues so we're supplementing with formula. She's very gassy and fussy, especially in the night. The way she arches makes me suspect reflux.
Jack is an incredible big brother. If she cries he runs over to her crib to check her and then runs to us to let us know. He is fascinated with her hands and counts her fingers. He also likes to rub her arm and her hair. It's so sweet.
Here are a few recent photos from when we went to the farmers market on Sat and just some random shots I took in the house.

Everyone looks so good! I hope the night time fussies are only temporary! I can't wait to see her in person, and I can't believe that Jack is almost 2!
Just so you know. My mom said that James was extremely fascinated with my hands and fingers when I came home from the hospital. Like father like son. Anika is so beautiful, with her full head of hair she looks like she already 6 months old. I love the new pictures.
Love,
Catherine
